Royal entrance, great idea, I'll try that next time.
I have to say that I actually like to have a little bit of nerves, I find it keeps me on my toes, I can get a bit complacent otherwise. In fact sometimes not being nervous at all will actually make me nervous!

After looking at a zillion blogs for speakers, I realized that the most important topic (in my silly opinion) has been ignored. Most speakers seem to ignore the fact that their listeners start to forget what is said...while it is being said. They need handouts to help them remember. So, I decided to create my own blog to fill the void. It's called Handouts for Speakers. It's at www.handoutsforspeakers.com.

Good suggestion Hilari. I also recommend working the room if at all possible - especially for people new to speaking - to have some friendly faces to focus on.

Good tips,
James
